   this is the left overs that i was talking about when i first lent him the pan and we emptied out the bucket that he was washing the original pan full of dollied dirt into. we couldn't believe what he was chucking away ! that first pic that i sent was the next lot that he panned using the turbo pan. when he saw what he was getting we got the bucket of dirt he was chucking away ! i've managed to downsize the pic for email.

   Mac Mac Gold Panning Club
   The Gold Recovery Fun event was a tremendous success. Many participants mentioned that this was the most fun they ever had. The main aim of the event was to recover lost gold from the sand used in previous competitions. This can be used for Mac Mac club panning competitions in the future. Further it was important to ensure an interesting & relaxed but fun event not bogged down by too many rules and restrictions. The prizes on offer were impressive. All above aims were not only reached but were exceeded. Coen Vermaak & Sonja Vermaak won the R4,000.00 prize for the team which recovered the most gold flakes in a 2.5 hour event. They panned out 72 buckets of sand in this event. The days events recovered a total of 482 gold flakes. There was consent amongst all participants that another event like this must be organised as soon as possible with even more fun & spot prizes on offer

   Hallo there!
   Golden greetings from Rovaniemi and from the Board of World Goldpanning Association. We are working on several issues and since we started yesterday we have had now 18 hours of official meeting. Not to mention "sauna talkings" and "over meal talkings"...
   But you can see happy faces in the picture.
   Hoping to see you all in Biella in August at Annual General Meeting of our Association!

    Golden greetings from the arctic circle, where the WGA Spring Board meeting has just ended... a marathon 20 hour meeting! Jenny Chaplin has been appointed as Communication Committee Chairperson and Ulla Kalander-Karlsson as Competition Committee Chairperson. Ulla's two permanent competition committee members are Eugene Swanepoel (South Africa) and Esko Orava (Finland). Geraldine McCrossan (Italy) is a temporary member for 2013 and additional temporary members will be chosen from Sweden and Spain for the 2014 and 2015 competitions.
